OUR STORY
The Bear Lake Heaven resort owners have enjoyed the beauty of western North Carolina for the past 30 years. They developed the property with the mission of building a haven for their family for generations to come. Having owned other lakefront and mountain properties in the area for decades, the owners fell in love with Bear Lake because of its exceptional mountains and pristine lake views, mimicking the natural beauty of Lake Como in Italy.
The owners spent several years pushing the mountain back from the shoreline to create acres of rare flat land around the lake, while at the same time developing miles of trails through the beautiful woods that feature creeks, waterfalls and exceptional natural beauty. The owners love that you can spend the day enjoying all the activities of a lake, and also immerse yourself into a magical natural forest just steps away.

Amy has been working with the owner’s family for over 30 years. Amy is responsible for the day-to-day management of Bear Lake Heaven including greeting guests, facilitating dining and entertainment arrangements, and keeping the estate up to its high standard

Annie Martin - Moss Gardener

Just Next Door
Bear Lake Reserve is a 2,400-acre resort adjacent to our Bear Lake Heaven property, and features a nine hole Jack Nicklaus golf course, tennis, workout facility and Clubhouse for dining and drinks. Our Bear Lake Heaven owners are active members of the Bear Lake Reserve, allowing our guests to enjoy these amenities throughout their time with us.
Day Trips
Asheville is a ninety-minute drive from our Tuckasegee vacation rental on Bear Lake. Asheville's historic and architecturally diverse downtown remains beautifully preserved, and offers a mix of Art Deco, Beaux Arts and Neoclassical styles that emanates from the locally owned-shops, galleries, entertainment venues and a burgeoning culinary scene. No trip to Asheville is complete without a visit to Biltmore, America’s largest home. Asheville is one of the trendiest cities in the country on par with Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee.
Cashiers is a relaxing little town home to numerous apparel boutiques, antique shops, and a handful of outstanding restaurants. Cashiers has been one of the primary resort towns in the eastern United States for generations, and is located 45 minutes away from our Bear Lake Heaven vacation rental.
Highlands is only 50 minutes from the property. Highlands is one of the oldest and finest resort towns in the eastern United States. A town similar in many ways to Aspen, Colorado, Highlands features a wonderful town center for shopping and dining
Sylva is only a 30-minute drive from our lakefront property in western North Carolina. Sylva is a charming bohemian town also featuring a wonderful town center for shopping and dining.
